This doll was sold at auction house Christie’s in 2010 and the lucky buyer paid $302,500. The money was donated to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation. This was created by Australian jewelry designer Stefano Canturi. The doll has a diamond necklace that featured a square-cut center, a 1-carat rare pink diamond that was found in Australia’s Argyle mine, and the choker is a white diamond.
De Beers Barbie
For the 40th anniversary celebration of this popular doll back in 1999, De Beers diamond jewelers made a single special-edition Barbie as well. The doll is wearing an evening gown with a bikini top and sheer skirt. Her outfit is adorned with 160 small diamonds and white-gold accessories. This was sold for $85,000.
