Dollhouses are part of many women’s childhoods. As little girls, dolls are basically the most popular toys and some opted to buy or create their own dollhouse. However, one particular dollhouse is so expensive that not most of the grown-up gals can afford it.

Astolat Dollhouse Castle is named the most expensive dollhouse by the Guinness World of Records. There are also the most expensive Barbie Dolls that are worth a fortune.

This particular dollhouse is worth $8.5 m (£6 m). The “Astolat Dollhouse Castle” has 29 rooms and it was constructed by American artist Elaine Diehl. It took her a period of 13 years to finish and this was between 1974 and 1987.

The model was based on the castle in Alfred Lord Tennyson’s “The Lady of Shalott”. Astolat measures 9-ft-tall (2.7-m). The dollhouse features 10,000 miniature items. The expensive items inside the dollhouse include a grand piano that cost $7,000 (£4,900) and an ornate desk worth more than $5,000 (£3,500).

There is also a tiny portrait painted with a single-bristle brush that is worth $1,840 (£1,290). It weighs 800 pounds (363 kg) and with a total floor area of almost 30 square feet (2.74 m²).

The dollhouse was displayed in the United States of America at the Nassau County Museum of Art, New York State, and the Time-Warner Center at Columbus Circle, right in the middle of New York City, from 2015 to early 2016. The proceeds were donated to the charitable organization called Autism Speaks.

This cute house also has furnishings, including tapestries, gold chandeliers, and miniature books with actual printed pages, based on the article in Parade. It also features multiple staircases, hallways, and secret passages. There is also a wizard’s tower on the top level and it has a tiny telescope and an observatory.
