During the Halloween season, many people binge-watch scary movies, aside from going to costume parties or joining the trick-or-treat. However, there are some people who simply love horror movies all year round. Based on the article in Mental Floss, these movies will garner the most scared reaction from viewers.

A list of 30 must-see horror movies based on Reddit recommendations, critics’ picks, and the list of the previous year’s Science of Scare” were compiled by researchers back in 2021. 250 people participated the the research by watching all 30 movies.

The participants were hooked up to heart rate monitors. This is in order to assess how their pulse reacts to each horror film they watch.

Based on that research, the scariest movie of all time was Host. This British movie was filmed completely over Zoom and released on Shudder in the midst of the pandemic lockdowns. It is just a short movie that did not even reach an hour but the scare it gave to the viewers was immense.
